If you're interested in becoming a member
of the Paint Creek Folklore Society…

We encourage everyone to visit our regular Paint Creek meetings.  They are held the first Saturday of every month, September through June - that’s our “folk year”.

Visiting gives you a chance to see what our group is like before you join. This is especially useful because one of the distinctive things about PCFS is our participatory approach to folk activities. Many folk organizations exist mainly to present concerts. While Paint Creek does present some concerts, our focus is more on encouraging our members to participate; to learn and share traditional songs, stories, music and dance -- as well as listening to and watching others. After all, this stuff is too much fun to be reserved for professionals!

We also are always looking for people with ideas and energy to help us host our meetings, fill Board positions, plan various events and volunteer to help during PCFS activities. Due to the intimate size of our meeting facility, we limit membership to 100 people.  If membership doesn’t sound right for you at the moment, you can still attend meetings as a visitor whenever you want.

You might also want to subscribe to "Keepin' Tabs," our monthly newsletter.  You can find it here on the website for viewing and downloading, or we can mail a hard copy to you.  A one year subscription of "Keepin' Tabs" is available at $10 for members, $20 for non-members.

If you decide you'd like to join PCFS, email our Membership Chairperson or see her before a meeting.  Membership includes admittance to all monthly meetings.  Visitors pay $10 each meeting, but dues for PCFS members are only $40 a year for an individual, or $70 for a family.

We hope to see you soon!
